Prior to becoming president and chief executive officer in February 2021, Karen was executive vice president of CVS Health and president of Aetna®, where she was responsible for delivering consumer-centric, holistic healthcare to the millions of people Aetna serves.
Karen was selected for the 2023 TIME100 annual list of the hundred most influential people in the world. She was named the top-ranking leader in 2021, 2022, and 2023 on the Fortune list of the “50 Most Powerful Women in Business.” In 2022, Fortune named Karen the Most Inspirational CEO. She was also included on the Bloomberg 50 list of people who have changed global business. Karen is a member of the President of the United States Export Council. She was a former board member of U.S. Bancorp. She serves on the boards of America’s Health Insurance Plans, the John F. School of Business. Karen lives in Florida with her husband, Kevin, and their dog, Piper. She is an avid runner and cyclist, and loves spending time with her grandson, Michael.
